This is not pure silicone product, you can tell by twisting it - If you can see white patches/lines, then the product is being mixed with plastic. Since I only use it as a scraper, I believe this is no big deal and it works well as a scraper. In fact, I use it on my cast iron griddle to get rid of food that sticks to the griddle.



I know some of the silicone bakeware has plastic mixed in, that might be a potential health problem when baking in high heat since plastic can give off hazardous fumes. As long as you don't put this scraper under high heat, shouldn't be a problem.

When this spatula first arrived I thought it was a mistake; too big, too rigid, hard to hold. I was so wrong. It scrapes any bowl clean - even round the bump on the bottom of my mixer bowl, it is stiff enough to deal with the heaviest bread doughs and even scrapes mixing spoons clean. I'll be including a few more with my next Amazon order.

I have this spatula in several colors. I use the black & red for savory food & tomato sauces. I use the white for baking. I really like that these are one piece - no area for gunk to build up, dishwasher safe, & no "peeing" out water after washing. Also, since the silicone goes all the way up the handle, you don't have to worry about the handle melting in a hot pan if you forget it. The reason I give it 4 stars (not 5) is because the handle is a little short. But these are still my go-to spats & I would buy more.

I saw this spoonula set at Ross today (7-26-09) for $7.99 but Amazon is selling it for $14.95. They looked like decent enough spatulas/spoons though the seam between the handle and the spoon is layered and will require careful cleaning. Also the package advised against putting them in the dishwasher.

I really like my Spoonula set and the color is very nice. I made the mistake of thinking the Spoonula set would take the place of the regular spatula and I was wrong. I had purchased a Pampered Chef Mix N Scraper years ago and I have loved that thing, it's perfect for everything I cook. Scrambled eggs, rice crispy treats, anything in a skillet really. I had to add my review to the others as this is a very nice tool for the price! It is sturdy and solid, with just a very slight bit of flex. I doesn't bow, even under a heavy piece of meat. It has a good heft without being overly heavy, and the handle feels comfortable for both large and small hands. The edge works well both for scraping up bits from the bottom of the pan and for getting under stuff to turn it. I love to use this for frying or browning meat, then making the pan sauce after. If you like to cook, it is well worth picking this up. It will quickly become a favorite that you will reach for frequently.

This spatula has plenty of reviews already but I have something to add: this spatula is very nice to use on the stovetop, but I find it too stiff to use for getting batter off the sides of a bowl. For that purpose, I'd pick a spatula with a larger and more flexible head. (This one measures 2.5 vertical inches from the base of the head to the pointy end.) But for stovetop use this one is very nice, the right size, well balanced, and great seamless construction. I'm glad I bought it.

All of these Trudeau silicone tools are great. They handle heat without melting (up to around 500 degrees) and they are so easy to clean. Because they are one piece there are no gaps or ridges to worry about food collecting. They are always the tools (spoon, spatula, etc. ) that we grab first. They wont scratch non stick cookware and are a great blend of firm yet flexible stiffness so they can bend to get into corners yet have the firmness to break or separate soft foods. The only tough decision is which sizes to get. We've got both the blue and green spoon/spatulas and the yellow and orange spatulas and use them all.

Have two of these and have had them a couple of years I think.

They have held up fine with very regular use for me.

If they did crack tonight then I would buy new ones tomorrow.

This is not a flat spatula for turning eggs but more a flexible flat-ish spoon-ish type device.

More flat than spoon but enough of a curve to pick up a whopping gob of mashed potato or something along those lines.

Or even just balance a small bit of liquid to taste the soup as I go along.

I reach for it first for a multitude of things in the kitchen.

Flexible enough to squidge right against the curve of a reasonably shaped bowl or pan.

I scramble eggs, mix dough, saute, clean pots and pans of mashed potato or whatever...

Basically if I need to turn a burger then I need a flatter spatula but other than that I have this or the whisk in my hand in the kitchen.

It's also just narrow enough at the shoulder to push into a full size mayo jar (or whatever) to clean it out well.

Same is true for a can of whatever - fits in and flexible enough at the edges to get right into the corners of the can.

I get out of most any reasonably sized food container what I paid for with this handy item.

Love this spatula SO MUCH I bought 5 of them! They are easy to clean, easy and versatile to use, nearly indestructible, great for cooking, scraping and mixing! The blade is just flexible enough, but not too much and shaped just right for just about everything. There is no other like it and I've tried many. Thought I'd never love another spatula as much as my good, old heat-resistant Rubbermaid ones, but these Trudeau ones are BETTER!!! Have given these as gifts to my kids and they love them too! The only minor faults---I wish the handle was just an inch or so longer and the handle is "fatter" in diameter than my old Rubbermaid ones, so takes up more storage space in the drawer. Otherwise, just about perfect! Love them, bet so will you!

I purchased my Trudeau 10-Inch to use as a plate and pan scraper. Instead of letting the water run while we get things ready to go in the dishwasher, we scrape the food into the trash. It does a great job.



Rinsing dishes and pots under running water can consume 25 gallons of water. By scraping the dishes nearly clean I am able to use the light wash cycle with good results. It is quicker and easier on my skin than rinsing the dishes.



I've had mine since early 2007 and it has been used and run through the dishwasher daily. It has no signs of wear. I was searching on line today to buy them as gifts!

I bought the 10-inch spatula after finding that I was alway using its little brother the 9-inch. Now that I have the two of them, I think I am set. If you use nonstick cookware as much as I do, this is a must. It is spatula/spoon all in one. I find that the 9-inch version is a little sturdier, but I am glad to have both especially for use in larger pans.
