I think that functionally this would be a great spatula, but I returned it because the color pictured wasn't even close to the actual color. I thought Wasabi would be more yellow, but it was a puke greenish yellow.

The one-piece silicon construction with steel shank eliminates problem of spatula coming off the handle in heavy batters. Performs well with high heat--doesn't warp or melt. I bought one in a specialty kitchen shop, but saved the card so I could order more from Amazon if I liked it. I'm now ordering some for some of my favorite cooks for Christmas. They're also less expensive from Amazon than retail store where I purchased mine. Thanks, Amazon!!!

I bought this spatula based on all the positive reviews here. Later, I found that Cook's Illustrated gave this their *lowest* rating, putting it last among a large number of spatulas. Unfortunately, that's where it belongs.



This is almost useless for actual cooking, although I guess it's ok if all you're doing is flipping a fried egg or something. The material is quite soft, meaning you can't scrape the sides of a bowl. Certainly if you're working with a stiff dough you won't get enough leverage. There's a piece of metal inside meant to give the Switchit some rigidity, but it doesn't extend far enough.



The gimmick of having two ends to work with turns out not to be that useful--flip the spatula over and you've got whatever you were just stirring now running over your hand.

Wife loves it, extremely useful, easy to clean, her new favorite kitchen accessory! Safe on any surface up to 400F. I will be sure to let her know that there is a risk of breaking it but for the price you can't beat it.

I love this thing! They call it a spatula, which I think of more as something you flip burgers with, but whatever -- I guess I could flip a small burger with it. It's a great tool for stirring and mixing. It's great w/nonstick pans. I use it in prep and on the stove top.



Others have complained that the silicone split where the metal support stops, but I've used mine frequently for over a year and see no sign of wear. I just bought a couple more for stocking stuffers.

Your kitchen only needs one spatula, and this is it. The small end gets the last little bit of mayo from a huge jar, the big end can fold egg whites, flip pancakes, deglaze a hot skillet... well, you don't need me to tell you what to do with a spatula.



I really love that it's one smooth piece of rubber. A regular spatula is 2 pieces- the handle and the blade. The blade can fall off, stuff gets inside the little hole of the blade where the handle fits in, or with time the hole gets loose and the blade wobbles around. None of that is an issue with the Chef'n. Even my expensive Le Crueset silicone spatula (a gift) is made so that you can take off the blade and put it in the dishwasher, and wash the delicate wooden handle by hand. Guess how often I use that.



I've read other reviews that this spatula can snap when mixing stiff dough, so just be aware. It's extremely durable, but not indestructable.
