While the write-up for this item states that it is great for flipping burgers on the grill, ours melted while flipping burgers on a non-stick griddle in the kitchen! We had not abused it nor even used it that often, so I was very surprised that this happened. From now on, I will stick to all silicone spatulas...having the silicone on the other end didn't help at all!

This is a wonderful kitchen accessory. It has a good neck on it to facilitate flipping & provide ergonomic stability. Flipper is shaped to be used in a skillet with high sides. The silicon is reinforced with metal to stiffen the flipping area. If you use a flat pan with small sides, it could push the cakes around a bit before the flipper gets under them. Is most effective in a large pan with high sides as the handle is angled to work with the sides. Try to find a side view. Well made.

Bought this as my "free" item of buy 4 & pay for 3. It's OK. Tried it on a few items already, even fish. However, even with the tapered edge, which I thought would be great, it is not sturdy enough. Not sure what kind of fish originally intended for. We used it on Salmon & Tuna. Not strong enough. Maybe OK for a flounder or something. Haven't tried it on pancakes or maybe to scoop enchiladas out of baking pan yet. Maybe better used for that.

This was purchased for my wife because she wanted a small server for special uses. It's good, but don't wash it in the dishwasher--the handle will likely become dark and spotted. That is what happened to hers after just one time in the machine. We did not see anything saying it was not dishwasher-safe. This doesn't affect anything other than appearance and "feel" of the server. (The flat surface was unaffected.)

I don't know how much pressure the other reviewers were using, but I've used mine several times and it's still in one piece. The grey parts are flexible rubber while the white part is a hard plastic.



I love that the spatula and thermometer are combined, it's easier than trying to mix with a separate spatula and not keep knocking into the temperature probe attached to the side of the bowl... and the printed on guide to tell where the temperature should be is great since I keep forgetting what temperatures to keep it between for which kind of chocolate!



My only minor irritation is trying to clean it- the chocolate gets in between the thermometer and the spatula and it's kind of challenging to get it out... Oh well, lots of hot soapy water and it is all fine!

I bought the Taylor Precision Products Connoisseur Series Chocolate Spatula Thermometer for my wife's birthday. The thermometer mounted inside the spatula cracked and broke on the 2nd use. The spatula is flexible while the thermometer mounted inside it isn't. This presents a major design flaw when stirring a viscous material like melted chocolate.
