"oneida chopper - so so" 2009-02-23
By M. E. McNulty
It chops nuts lickety split - fine on some veggies too - but how are you supposed to clean this sucker??

"Buy it if you want smooshed onions" 2007-01-05
By Inayet Sahin (Washington, DC)
it does not chop...it smooshes everything into a paste. it is a horribly designed product and should not be sold on amazon.

 "not worth it" 2006-10-15
By sandy (new york)
Very disappointed to find that this $20.00 chopper works no better (on onions, anyway, which is primarily what I use it for) than the $3.00 one I purchased at a chain dollar store. I was counting on the Oneida name, but this item was a bust.

 "Weird -- in a kind-of-bad way" 2008-08-25
By Becky in Boerne (Texas)
This two-ended turner has one steel and one silicone end. It's a case of trying to make one tool do too much. The silicone is too flimsy to turn anything or even to use as a stirrer. Using the silicone end means holding the steel turner end -- which isn't such a comfortable position. The steel end has an odd shape which isn't as useful as I'd thought it would be. Not impressed.

"Rich, glossy color - sized more like a "mini" spatula" 2009-08-26
By Elizabeth
The Black Onyx color is gorgeous. It is rich and glossy, not dull. This is a beautiful utensil in my growing collection of Le Creuset Black Onyx.

The bamboo handle feels just right in the hand. The handle is generously sized at 7 3/4 inches.

Note: The spatula head does not look as pictured in the Amazon photo. It is 2 3/4" long by 1 3/8" wide. The silicone is safe up to 800 degrees Farenheit. The head is permanently attached. (Some Le Creuset silicone utensils have detachable heads for cleaning.)

Perfect for scooping out margarine to use in a skillet, stirring sauteed vegetables, or spreading a dab of mayonnaise. It is a versatile size I would not want to be without.

If you like this one, I suggest the Le Creuset Pasta Fork in Black Onyx.

NOTE: If you are looking for a less expensive spatula set, one with plastic handles, consider the Wilton Easy Flex Silicone Spatula 3 Piece Set. It was not for me, because the handles felt too small and it is not as eco-friendly, but it may be right for you.

I first became interested in the Le Creuset silicone utensils after I purchased the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro Stainless Steel 12-piece Cookware Set. The makers of this cookware recommend wooden or silicone utensils, not metal ones. I have been thrilled with these utensils as they absolutely will not scratch.

"Too thick, shaped for right-handed people, awkward for lefties" 2009-01-14
By Anonymous Shopper (USA)
I haven't found a good use for this yet; it is too thick for cookies (beveled edge rises too sharply), too flexible and a little too clumsy (see updated note below). I bought it to replace a nylon turner when I noticed the coating on the edge was peeling. Now I'm back at Amazon looking for another turner because this one doesn't do the simple jobs my nylon turner did.

UPDATE: I finally realized why this seems so awkward to me: The handle of the turner isn't straight and symmetrical, but curved, placing the flat part slightly off-center. The way it is designed probably benefits right-handed people, but it creates a problem for the rest of us.

 "Pasta tong" 2010-02-10
By Tommie H. (Venice, FL USA)
I was looking for a nice scoop for at least 1 pound of pasta to use in my pots where you cant use metal. It's ok but plain old plastic utensils work better. Cleans about the same as plastic.

"Pasta, anyone? Beautiful combo of both shiny and matte Black Onyx" 2009-08-27
By Elizabeth
What a beautiful pasta fork. Silicone is heat safe up to 800° Farenheit. It is a lovely combination of black matte and shiny black combined to make the Black Onyx color. It holds a hefty portion of pasta yet will not harm your stainless cookware.

The head is permanently attached. (Some Le Creuset silicone utensils have detachable heads for cleaning.)

If you like this one, I suggest the Le Creuset Small Spatula, Black Onyx or the Le Creuset Silicone Balloon Whisk, Black Onyx.

I first became interested in the Le Creuset silicone utensils after I purchased the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro Stainless Steel 12-piece Cookware Set. I have been thrilled with these utensils as they absolutely will not scratch.

 "Too floppy" 2010-03-10
By Joanne Ragan (North Carolina, USA)
This turner is too thick to get under the food and too flexible also. Feels good in the hand, but to what use? The other silicone Orka items are ok, but you have to keep in mind that the handles are not that strong. I broke one spoon stirring some cold mac and cheese - of course that would be hard on any spoon.

"Great help in the kitchen!" 2009-09-12
By Teresa J. Talbot (USA)
bought this a while ago because I was tired of icing cakes with a short knife and boy is it way easier. Not only that but it also comes in handy when you need something rigid to run under something to loosen it from it's pan. Definitely suggest this product.

 "easy to use" 2009-02-18
By Crystal L. Ritter (England)
I found this easy to put icing on the cake and moving it around after it has cooled off..

"An essential for frosting and layer cakes" 2008-12-01
By Veggiechiliqueen
If you're a baker who frequently makes brownies, bar cookies, and cakes, you need to have an offset stainless-steel icing spatula in your collection. The blade is the ideal combination of strength and flexibility, and using an offset spatula means that you don't end up dragging your knuckles through your frosting as you work around a cake. It's useful for leveling brownie and cake batters to ensure even baking and is a must-have for spreading frosting, particularly on quick-setting sheet cakes like Texas cocoa cake. It's also my tool of choice for spreading fillings and frosting layer cakes. When you're finished, you can either hand-wash or pop it in the dishwasher.

 "Great Spatula" 2009-09-24
By Jessica Keck (Illinois)
While this may seem to be an ordinary spatula, it fits perfectly inside of the kitchenaid mixing bowls, and is able to scrape the entire bowl. I love having it, and it's very sturdy. This is a great tool to have.

"Great spatula but don't believe the dishwasher-safe hype" 2009-07-04
By Truly Indie Film Review
We received this spatula as a wedding gift a few years ago. The spatula worked very well in a wide variety of culinary scenarios. After use, we always washed the spatula by hand and were extremely satisfied with the quality of materials and construction. However, about 3 months ago we began washing the spatula in the dishwasher and, almost immediately, noticed a change. The edges quickly became worn and seemingly more brittle. Soon a crack began to develop along the top edge. My wife tried cleaning some food that had become lodged in the now prominent crack and a large piece of the spatula broke-off. Our once wonderful spatula has now been retired to the garbage can. Would I buy this spatula again? Probably. Would I put it in the dishwasher again? Never.

 "Save your money!" 2009-01-13
By S. Bell (MI United States)
I loved mine for a year that it worked. After about 6 uses and just less than a year, while making a cake the handle finally broke! I was thinking of replacing it with another Kitchen Aid $10 spatula, but why should a spatula last only 1 year and cost $10? They look super cool with the silver trim, but they don't seem to be well-made. I will have to research a NON-KitchenAid spatula because this one does not make the grade! I am moving on to another brand.

 "Industry Standard" 2009-12-06
By J.K. (Tempe, AZ)
Found in bakeries everywhere, it's the perfect size, weight and feel for icing cupcakes and other tasks that require this size tool. As a professional pastry chef, I often have to use it for hours at a time. No brainer if this is the size offset you need. Don't listen to Suzy homebakers who think it's not big or stury enough. They have no clue. And I'm just a pastry chef, I don't represent Ateco!

 "compact spatula" 2009-01-08
By MOMMaJ
~~ a little light and a little small, depending on your intent. But where space is at a premium , it will probably do the trick. However I wish I had bought a larger more sturdy feeling one. This feels like a toy.
