The KitchenAid All Purpose Scraper is an excellent kitchen tool! You'll find soooo many uses for it - be sure to get the RED one so you can find it in a hurry! The ruler on the edge is unexpected, but very useful. We use this scraper every time we're in the kitchen. Great for scraping pizza stone, cookie sheets, well, anything before washing - counter top, sticky raisins and stuff off the floor, gunk in the microwave, etc. Does not scratch. You'll love it.

This is an extremely sturdy scraper. It does a wonderful job clearing any gunk you like from your counter. The handle is comfortable to use. If you're only wanting to clean up after making cookies, then it'll be a gem for you.



However, it's fairly short. I use my board scraper to divide thick balls of dough and to help lift rolled out items like pizza dough and pastry crust off the counter. This scraper does not work nearly as well for those tasks. When dividing dough, you end up with your fist in the dough, dragging through it. For lifting rolled items, the extra thick handle also is a hinderance as you can't even approach parrallel to the work surface. And, of course, you can't lift much on the short metal surface. After being frustrated with it, I bought an all-metal one with a handle on one side only from Progressive that works great. It's handle is not as comfortable, but this isn't a Chef's knife that's going to be in your hand for an hour. It gets used for a few seconds at a time. Oxo also makes a nice tall one with a plastic handle that I suspect works just as well.

I purchased this set along with the 4 piece utensil set in red, and have nothing but great things to say about them. You get a very good bowl scraper with a unique shape that works. Also, the rectangular scraper has a small ridge around the perimeter of its otherwise flat profile. This works great for the required intermittent scraping down the bowl of electric mixers (even while it's running). Other tools are two thick or have rounded noses. The spoonula with the set is short and being multi-material becomes a cleaning issue.

This turner LOOKS impressive, but that's all I can find favorable about it. It's too thick to slide under food, too rough to let food on it slide off, and too bulky to store in the crock with the rest of the turner utensils. Meal after meal, I grab the old, ugly, scorched turners instead of this. When this is the last clean turner in the kitchen, I handwash a dirty one. I'd throw it away...but it was a present.

...but it's okay. I like it because it is soft silicone so when I drop it it does not damage. It is a little too flexible, but it's weighted much better than the other spatula (the non-slotted one). All in all it's a pretty sturdy, workable item. Great for pancakes.

I bought this to turn hot food in large pans, and it works very well for that. Since it's made of silicone it won't melt unless you accidentally toss it in the oven or something.

Like the other reviewers, I also found the neck to be a little bit too flexible for my tastes, though. When I use it for incidental things (like stir-frying) I never quite know when it's going to spring and bend.

I do like that it's a nice, large turner (bigger than I expected from the picture, and thicker than my other turners). It's defintitely not going to work for small things, like turning omlettes in a little omlette pan, but other than that it's great.

Oh, and one other thing: if you notice an unpleasant odor when you get it, just give it a few washes to get rid of it. Most products made of silicone have this problem out of the box.

While remodeling my kitchen, I decided I HAD to have cobalt utensils to match my small Kitchenaid appliances. With the exception of this slotted turner, I'm glad I got them. Unfortunately, this turner is too large for easy flipping in my pans, and due to the handle being too flexible, I don't feel like I have good control when using it. The business end of the turner is rather thick, and so doen't "slip under" the food as readily as my other turners. Love the Kitchenaid's other silicone utensils, but have to rate this turner just 3 stars.

I loved this spatula until it broke - which wasn't after too many uses (about 10 or so). For me, it was the end part that broke, not the middle or the handle, but the wide part you can take off the end while washing. I paid a fair bit of money for this - even though it was purchased on sale, so I can't see myself buying another though it definitely worked quite well and was loved. Also, it wasn't put through particularly heavy work, so I don't think I could just be careful with it next time. Honestly, they look cool and work well, and are a good brand, but I would recommend you save some money and buy a different product.

I researched for a long time before I finally decided to purchase this KitchenAid Mixer Spatula. I used it about 6 times, less than a year old, and when I was using it, the handle broke! I love this spatula, especially the curved edge that lets you get all the good stuff out of the mixing bowl. I cannot see myself paying $10 for another spatula that will last about 1 year. They look super cool with the silver trim, but they don't seem to be well-made. I will have to research a NON-KitchenAid spatula because this one does not make the grade!

No matter what color you get this spatula in, it works great. It sweeps the batter from the mixing bowl in larger amounts and cleans the bowl better than other brands; I'm sure that the shape makes the difference. I also like the handle, making it alot easier to hold and handle. It will also last longer than other brands.

I had this spatula less than a year and it broke between the spatula head and the neck. I had one other red kitchenAid spatuala and it broke too, but it broke at the insertion of the silver ring. So it broke in half. I was not doing anything unusual. My cheap ugly spatulas are still going strong after 7 years.

We received this spatula as a wedding gift a few years ago. The spatula worked very well in a wide variety of culinary scenarios. After use, we always washed the spatula by hand and were extremely satisfied with the quality of materials and construction. However, about 3 months ago we began washing the spatula in the dishwasher and, almost immediately, noticed a change. The edges quickly became worn and seemingly more brittle. Soon a crack began to develop along the top edge. My wife tried cleaning some food that had become lodged in the now prominent crack and a large piece of the spatula broke-off. Our once wonderful spatula has now been retired to the garbage can. Would I buy this spatula again? Probably. Would I put it in the dishwasher again? Never.

I loved mine for a year that it worked. After about 6 uses and just less than a year, while making a cake the handle finally broke! I was thinking of replacing it with another Kitchen Aid $10 spatula, but why should a spatula last only 1 year and cost $10? They look super cool with the silver trim, but they don't seem to be well-made. I will have to research a NON-KitchenAid spatula because this one does not make the grade! Wow, it looks really cool, and you don't have to scrape the bowl anymore. However, I find I have to stop and scrape the beater! This is because the stubby blades retain material, and the body is so big that stuff accumulates on it. Just this morning while creaming butter with it, I noticed half of my butter got stuck on the inside of the beater with out mixing and wouldn't come off. With all those projections on it, the whole beater retains a lot of material so you have to take the time to scrape it with your fingers if you don't want to waste up to a half cup of your mixture! Very disappointed to find it was made in China. I just don't trust Chinese made products, especially when they come in contact with my food. I went back to the original beater blade that came with my KitchenAid stand mixer.

I bought this because the paddle that came with my 6qt KitchenAid mixer is NOT dishwasher safe but this one is. I like how it scrapes the sides of the bowl to get better mixing. Before I had to scrape down the sides because, of course, the metal paddle doesn't touch the sides. So far it's held up well and I will never go back to the other one.
