This spoon spatula is the first utensil I reach for when I'm cooking--no matter what I'm cooking. I have this in red and white. I actually think the white has become a little stained, the red hasn't. I have had no problem with the handle bending or breaking, and I like the fact that it doesn't move around in my hand. I can get around the entire bowl in one stroke. It really stays with the form of the bowl or pan.

I purchased a few of these for myself and friends. From the day I got my spoon spatula it was my favorite kitchen tool, especially since I could use it when making sauces or frying onions and veggies. One day when making a non-meat tomato sauce the handle simply broke off leaving the handle in my hand and the spatula in the pot. I wrote to OXO about this twice in the last 2 months with no reply and this is most frustrating to me. Anyway, I am now using a KitchenAid product which feels much more sturdy and KitchenAid responds to e-mails IMMEDIATELY.

For the money, this is a fantastic spatula. The handle feels good in the hand, with the rounded end. The silicon head is rather slick, so food comes off of it easily. Best of all, the heads don't stain!



Some people have taken stars away because of the unfinished handle. The handle is just like any other rubber/silicon spatula I have had. You won't want to let it soak in the dish pan, but other than that, I think it will stand the test of time.

The wooden handle is rough, as if it weren't sanded enough to obtain a smooth finish. There is also no varnish on the handle so it is very rough in your hand. The handle arrived cracked at the end where the hole is located. I will not order these again.

I had been looking for years for a spatula replacement for my old Rubbermaid with wood handle. I am delighted with the quality of this spatula! The handle shape is excellent for getting a good grip (I do have some mild arthritis and this makes it easier to hold and use effectively). I especially love the fact the wood handle won't slip out of the head easily (most of the plastic handle spatulas slip out of the head after a week or two of use). I hate fishing for the spatula head in a batter. I won't have this problem with this spatula! The head is better than most of the silicone spatulas. It will scrape the sides of mixing bowls even with heavy doughs. You can't do that with most silicone spatulas. The temperature rating for this is also quite high and is molded into the spatula head (260C/500F). I have ordered several more. I highly recommend this.

It's getting hard to find a decent spatula at the grocery store, one that has a smooth head for scraping out a bowl, and a nice strong handle. This is it! I own two of these spatulas - one in white, one in blue - and they are fantastic.



The manufacturer asks you to remove the head for the dishwasher, which is a bit of an annoyance, but the spatulas are still going strong after hard kitchen use. I oil the handles when I do my chopping blocks, so they really look nice.



For about $4, I don't think you'll find anything better - and I haven't been impressed by any of the $12 spatulas.

I use to own a similar tool years ago & would frequently wished I had it. This is a great replacement! I've only had it for a few weeks, but have used it many times. I made pies from scratch for Thanksgiving & this spatula made it so much easier to loosen the rolled-out dough & help lift it onto pie plates. Great size for lifting smaller cookies off the pan or lifting smaller cuts of cake, etc. It is more versatile in the kitchen than a butter knife for things like loosening the edges of a cake from the sides of a pan & then using it to serve pieces. An all-around great kitchen item. I never soak the handle in water & keep the wooden handle oiled periodically as I do with all my wooden cutting boards, bowls, handles, etc. to keep them from cracking or drying out. Very well made product that will last for years.

I was very impressed with the quality of the blade on this spatula. I bought it to replace a similar Wilton spatula and it makes the Wilton one seem flimsy. It costs about 1/3 the price of the current Wilton model. I decorate a lot of cakes and cookies and this type of spatula has become my #1 favorite essential tool.

This review is for the mini spatula. Just received it so can't comment on durability or workmanship. I just used it in the making of chocolate chip cookies and found that the tip is too soft and flexible for any thick substance. I haven't gotten used to it's "quirk" yet and so used too much force to scrape up dough, the tip rebounded the other way and flung dough onto the wall. It was actually pretty funny because I was wondering how come there were little bits of dough all over the wall and counter. So, for some task, it's not great. I doubt it's even competent in scraping every bits of peanut butter from an almost empty jar. So, if you're thinking of buying this for that purpose, be forewarned. On the other hand, it's really nicely made, with a beautiful and comfortable handle, and it's made in USA, how rare is that!

Received this spatula as a holiday gift. When I first saw it, I thought it would be useless - I was very wrong. It's great for getting that last bit of stuff from the bottom of a jar, and works very well at spreading soft things such as mayo etc. The only thing I'd change is to make it a bit stiffer so it could spread firmer items such as peanut butter.

Okay, I'm a home cook, and how can someone be so excited about a spatula??~~!! Well, you know how you have SO many kitchen utensils in a drawer in your kitchen, and you don't think you can find any more room for just one more? Well, I bought this spatula for one reason.... the fact that it is ALL silicone, I can just leave it in a hot pot on my stove, and not worry that it will melt to the rim of the pot. What a God send. I've owned it for nearly two years now, and it still looks brand new. I've had boiling pots on my stove, and left it in there, and it never melts! lol!! YEAH!! Finally found the perfect spatula. Oh, and you see that round corner on it? Well, that is perfect for scraping out anything in my pots! And the other pots that have a square corner, the other side works perfect on those. I use this spatula more than once a day, and just ordered the larger version, and also the slotted version. They are worth every penny. After I get the new one's in next week, I'll be throwing away those old plastic one's that have burn marks!!

Great little tool. Holds up to heat on my pancake griddle without warping. The scraper handle is great for getting the last of the peanut butter out of the jar! Take it with camping because it is a turner and scraper in one.

This spatula cleans easily, is easy to handle, and has a nice thin edge, which is difficult to find in nonstick-safe tools.



My one note is that the blade is pretty flexible. It's designed to be this way and you can't really get a thin edge without that, but it does make it difficult to use the edge for, for example, breaking apart ground beef of pieces of chicken as they brown. I usually use a more rigid spatula when I'm doing these things though, so that's not a negative.

My spouse is in culinary school, so we go through a lot of different kitchen implements. When it comes to spatulas, this is our mutual favorite. Due to the placement of the spine of the spatula, it is very sturdy - much studier than spatulas which place the spine at the edge of the spatula. Although we've since bought extras, our first one - purchased back in 2006 - is still going strong. It's not stained or warped or otherwise damaged.

Silicone is a great product for heat resistant spatulas. I would prefer a more squared-off design of the "spoon" to keep food from scorching when stirring hot items. A squared-off bottom would also make scraping from bowl or pan more efficient. The dark handle keeps food stains from showing, allowing it to look "new" longer since the silicone "spoon" sheds stains.

I bought this thinking it would be better than all the cheap supermarket spoon/spatulas. It is worse - the head is not sealed to the handle and batter / food / grease / whatever gets in the slot where the head and handle connect and is impossible to get out - soaking, dishwasher on heat boost - nothing works. Also, 400 deg limit is iffy when using on the stove - 600 deg limit is much better. Mine curled a bit when used on the stove, but since it had a permanent reservoir of filth, I tossed it anyway. Better to splurge on the ones from Pampered Chef.
