i can't believe i'm going to rave about a freakin' spatula. it's quite sturdy, and i love that it's all in one piece. i'm so sick of the plastic spatula part detaching from the handle, and this will not fall apart like that. no weird crevices mean no food residue in crevices and no detachment! i'd rather pay a couple of bucks more for a higher quality item that will last longer.

So far I love it! Its great to cook with it and not have it melt. Its also quite sturdy. Like that it is easy to clean and the handle doesn't come out. Its one of those items I look for when cooking because it is fun to use and has a good feel to it.

This is maybe the first or second Amazon review I've ever done, but with Linens and Things going out of business (the only place I could ever find them) I feel compelled to give Orka some credit. These are the best spatulas I've ever used. They're strong, they're made of high-temp resistant silicone, they have no branding on them what-so-ever, and they're seamless. Read that again: S E A M L E S S. No goo getting caught in there, leading to a moldy spoon handle. From an industrial design perspective, they're flawless. Get all the sizes. I heard one person say he likes the black ones for coffee. I don't know about that, but, they're just awesome. The dished one is especially coveted (by me) simply because they've been hard to find and they work so well, but the lip, which must be thin to work, seems to me like if it would fail, that's where a failure would occur. That said, I've had two of the dished ones and they're both going strong after two to three years.

I found this spatula to be good for some things, but not for everything. It is stiff and rather inflexible; good for stirring and frying, but not for getting that last bit of batter or mayo out of the container. I like that it is all one piece, easy to clean, but found the handle to be too round and small in diameter to hold and use effectively. However, the small handle does not take up much space in the drawer, like some do. Also, I do not like the shape of the blade, it doesn't seem to fit the contours of most bowls or containers. I found it to be very heat resistant and use it for cooking, more than scraping. I still prefer my old Rubbermaid heat-resistant spatulas, overall. Another new one I recently tried and prefer over this Orka spatula is made by Trudeau.

I was looking for a good strong spatula for scraping and mixing heavy batters and doughs. This spatula does the job wonderfully and since it doesn't have a detachable head, you don't have a problem losing the top of your spatula in thick cookie dough.
