This spatula is not the only one you will need, but for the things it is good at, it's indispensable! It's good for reaching the last bit of mayo out of the newer gallon-sized plastic (lumpy bottomed) jars, due to it's very long handle and pointy, very flexible tip. Good for loosening/flipping delicate eggy things, like crepes and pancakes. Also, good at loosening baked goods from pans without damage. It's good at scraping the very last bit of stuff from flat, irregular or somewhat concave surfaces, especially big items, like soup pots and large bowls. The blade is 5 1/8" long by slightly over 1 3/4" wide at it's longest/widest points with an overall length of 13 1/8", which means it may not fit in every drawer. I wish it came in a smaller version, with a narrower blade, for smaller mouth jars and such. Cleans up great in the dishwasher and even though, it's two piece, I've never had it trap water or dirt between handle and blade. It's somewhat translucent, so that's easy to see. The firmly attached blade is totally heat resistant to 600 degrees F. and so far, I haven't had any trouble with the handle either. Pretty inexpensive. I would buy this again.

Forget about scraping jars. What this product is really good at is loosening baked items from non-stick cookware, such as muffin pans or cake pans. The edge is thin enough to not damage the item, it won't scratch non-stick surfaces, and it's heatproof.

I had high hopes for this product. Two problems withit made it not what I thought. 1) It's too wide to fit into narrow-mouthed containers. 2) It's so floppy, that it's difficult to get a really good scrape on the inside of a container. In all, a disappointment for the purpose for which I purchased it.

I like to scrape out jars & was looking to add to my silicone utensils. This was not the one to buy for many reasons. 1) it is a 2 piece unit - don't do it - only buy the "all in 1 piece" spatulas. 2) This tip of this spatula is WAY too pliable almost to the point of unuseable when using in jars, or anything else for that matter. I think I've used it twice & it just sits in the drawer. Shame of it is, I love the rest of my trudeaus. I had to buy another spatula set, some off-name brand from Amazon - it was 3 piece & red for $15 - to get a 1 piece useable jar scraper that I use all the time for not only jars but lots of "little" uses.

For many, many years we have had an old long thin spatula that we use to scrape out stuff from the bottom of the jar, such as mayonnaise, spaghetti sauce, and so forth. Since this old spatula could not be put in the dishwasher it was getting harder and harder to get clean and I finally decided I could spring for a new one. Based on reviews and a whim I ordered this one.
I am so glad I did! Who would've thought they could have made such improvements to something as simple as a spatula? It doesn't stain (even with spaghetti sauce) and doesn't get all sticky and yucky in the dishwasher like the old one did. The end is soft and does a great job of getting around the bottom of jars - and when I decided to use it for getting batter out of pans I found that it gets out a LOT more of the batter than my stiffer spatulas do! And it's even a pretty color!
It definitely isn't the only spatula you'll ever need, and for some applications it won't be the best choice, but it certainly fills its niche perfectly.
